After the Ordeal

Here's Gimme relaxing after her "ordeal" at the vet's office.  

Actually it wasn't nearly as bad as before.  The staff let me run the show and followed my directions.  Gimme licked peanut butter for almost the whole thing.   I'm sure it made a big difference for her to know what was coming and have me with her.

She didn't even notice the first needle stick.  The tech asked me if she'd been out to pee and I assured her not since 2a.m.  I think she must have missed the bladder.  The second stick Gimme definitely noticed - I could tell it really hurt.  She stopped licking, but didn't struggle.  She wasn't relaxed for the procedure, but was accepting - which was what I hoped to achieve.

I am so proud of her.  She is much less stressed than before.
