The setup was all about puzzles, so the dogs had to solve the physical puzzle before they could get close to odor and solve the hide.
Search 1, no video - Unfortunately the camera disk malfunctioned and we didn't get a video of this search. There were four physical puzzles to solve to get to the four different hides. Gimme really enjoys these and did a really nice job getting through the maze to the hide.
Search 2 video - These puzzles were changed to be more challenging. I think Gimme didn't notice the more challenge in the first area, since she got to the hide in 6.83 seconds. She spent just 24 seconds getting to the second hide and 28 seconds to the third hide. Most of the dogs had difficulty finding their way out of the big maze in the middle, but Gimme did it easily. From there to the last hide took her 3.6 seconds. She's pretty brilliant at this stuff.
Search 3 video - This time there was just the one big puzzle in the middle, made very complicated. I guess Gimme didn't get the memo. She quickly checked the front and then went on to solve the big middle puzzle almost immediately. She did it in about half the time of the other dogs.
As I said, Gimme really loves the puzzle class, which we do every 6-9 months. I'm sure she just loves to show off how smart she is.
